Last Christmas we hosted the very first Sala Thai Christmas Lunch Buffet and this year, expect another 2 day lunch buffet! Save the date! On Saturday December 7th and Sunday December 8th Sala Thai is bringing back the epic Christmas Lunch Buffet to Vancouver!

Expect to experience a journey through Thailand, including a spread of different dishes, each vibrant, colorful, and tasty. Your taste buds are in for a ride. Sample all 4 of the major regional varieties of Thai cuisine during the epic Sala Thai lunch buffet.

Don’t expect a basic buffet, we will have live food stations where our cooks will prepare fan favorites right in front of you.

Fresh Pad Thai cooked to order
Papaya Salad
Coconut cupcakes
Noodle Station: Duck Noodle Soup and Khao Soi

Ingredients from Thailand

There are many regional varieties of Thailand and trust me, we love cooking all of it! With Thai cooks from all around Thailand, our buffet will take you through a journey around Thailand. Not only are the ingredients all traditional, majority of our specially ingredients such as curry spices and Khao Soi are directly from Northern Thailand, straight from the source!

We try as best as we can to cook with traditional Thai ingredients. Our parents, Joy and Sam Kongsilp opened Sala Thai some 40 years ago to introduce Thai cuisine in Vancouver. As one of Vancouver’s first Thai establishments, getting Thai ingredients to cook with was not easy. Luckily they were able to work with local grocers to deliver essential ingredients needed to expand Sala Thai’s menu to what it is today. Fast-forward 40 years, our parents still travel to Thailand 3-5 times per year to gather inspiration for Sala Thai.

Sala Thai ศาลา. In Thai, Sala Thai means: an open pavilion used as a meeting place for the community to gather to be protected from the sun and rain. At Sala Thai you will find authentic Thai culture, delicious and authentic Thai food, good cheer, and above all, good times!
